Their aim is to provide stable support for the prosthetic restoration, helping to improve chewing function, comfort and the aesthetics of the smile. Before any surgical procedure or implant placement, a careful clinical examination and appropriate X-ray assessment are essential.<\/p><p>In this way the condition of the gums, the quality and quantity of the bone, general oral health and any factors that may affect the treatment outcome are checked. Each case is assessed individually, so that the appropriate treatment plan is chosen with an emphasis on safety, function and the long-term stability of the restoration. Proper patient information, careful preparation and following the instructions after the procedure are important for smooth healing and the success of the treatment.<\/p>\n    <div class=\"lav-extra\" data-lav-extra>\n<h2>How implants are placed<\/h2>\n<p>Treatment begins with a clinical examination and X-ray assessment (including 3D imaging where needed), so that the gums, the quantity and quality of the bone and your general health can be checked. A personalised plan is then drawn up. The MIS implant system is used. The implant, an artificial root made of titanium, is placed in the bone under local anaesthesia. Once the bone has stabilised the implant, the prosthetic restoration is made and fixed onto it.<\/p>\n\n<h2>Who it is for<\/h2>\n<p>Implants are for adults who have lost one or more teeth or who have difficulty with a removable denture. They are not suitable for everyone. An assessment is needed of your general health, the bone, oral hygiene and smoking. If the bone is insufficient, there are augmentation techniques that are discussed after the examination.<\/p>\n\n<h2>Restoration options<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>One missing tooth:<\/strong> a crown on top of an implant.<\/li>\n<li><strong>More teeth:<\/strong> a bridge supported on implants, without needing an implant for every tooth.<\/li>\n<li><strong>No teeth:<\/strong> a denture supported on implants, fixed or removable, so that it is held better.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The choice depends on the number of teeth, the available bone and your expectations.<\/p>\n\n<h2>Alternative solutions<\/h2>\n<p>Replacing teeth with implants is one of the options. Alternatively, a fixed bridge, which is supported on the neighbouring teeth and requires them to be ground down, or a partial or complete denture may be considered. The dentist will explain the advantages and disadvantages of each solution for your case, so that you can decide with full information.<\/p>\n\n<h2>The role of preparation<\/h2>\n<p>Any infection, decay or gum disease is treated first, because they affect healing and long-term stability. Smoking and poorly controlled diabetes increase the risk of complications and are discussed before the procedure. In the first few days mild swelling and tenderness are normal.
